City Surveys Ltd was founded in 2015 by Tony Jackson BSc (Hons) MRICS, who as sole director, carries out all inspections and report-writing for the company. A chartered building surveyor since 2001, Tony brings years of experience in conducting detailed inspections and producing clear reports for the residential and commercial sectors.

Tony began his career with Lambert Smith Hampton, where he undertook the usual wide range of professional and project work required to become a chartered building surveyor.  He spent a further period in consultancy working for public and private sector clients, which culminated in his role at a national multi-disciplinary company, where he managed the schools capital maintenance works for Leeds City Council. Tony set up his own practice in 2015 to focus on survey commissions.

Having been instructed as an Expert Witness by both defendants and claimants on housing disrepair claims since 2019, Tony has developed expertise in the field of defect diagnosis, particularly in relation to damp, where he uses destructive sampling where necessary to diagnose or rule out structural dampness. He has undertaken hundreds of residential surveys in connection with housing disrepair matters throughout Yorkshire.

An accredited Domestic Energy Assessor through Elmhurst Energy, Tony also regularly produces domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for vendors and landlords.
