Instructed by Defendants and Claimants
Acting in the capacity of 'Single', 'Joint Single' and 'Single Joint' Expert, Tony has undertaken a substantial number of residential surveys in connection with Housing Conditions matters. Inspections are undertaken in compliance with the Pre Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims. Reporting, along with subsequent advice and support, are CPR Part 35 (court) compliant. Acting for the Court, Tony provides an impartial Expert Witness service to landlords and tenants.
Structural Dampness Diagnosis
Tony has developed expertise in the field of defect diagnosis, particularly in relation to damp. When instructed by the Defendant, destructive sampling is used where necessary to diagnose or rule out structural dampness. These methods include ground salt analysis of a wallpaper or plaster scrape, and calcium carbide ('Speedy') testing of drilled mortar samples.
Tools and Equipment
A range of diagnostic tools and equipment is used during Expert Witness inspections to minimise limitations in the reporting process. This includes calcium carbide ('Speedy') testing, ground salt analysis of plaster scrapes, deep probe testing, electronic moisture meter, temperature and humidity meter, surface temperature testing, thermal imaging camera, telescopic camera pole and borescope.
